今回も「期間」についてです。早速以下の表現を紹介します。
⑶「～までに」：◯月◯日までに
【例文】
ABC shall deliver the Products to XYZ on or before December 25, 20◯◯.
【訳文例】
ABCはXYZに対し、20◯◯年12月25日までに本製品を引き渡す。
※”by”が浮かんだ方もおられると思いますが、”by”はその日を含みます。一方”before”だとその日を含まないようです。誤解を招かないためにも、”on or before”としていれば、「（その日を含み）その日までに」という表現になりますので間違いありません。
⑷「～までは」：◯月◯日までは
【例文】
ABC has an option right to purchase the Products till/until and including March 28,20◯◯.
【訳文例】
ABCは、20◯◯年3月31日までは製品を購入する選択権を有する。
※”till”と”until”だけではその日を含むか否かが明確ではないので、”including”をダメ押しで併記すればその日を含むことが間違いないようです。
⑸「～以内の期間/～を超えない期間/～未満の期間」
【例文①】within thirty (30) days→30日以内
【例文②】within the period not exceeding thirty (30) days→30日を超えない期間
【例文③】within the period less than thirty (30) days→30日未満の期間内
